Tisha Bridges

  Tisha grew up in Baldwin Borough where she was the 4th of 4 children born to the late Albert and Genevieve Wertelet.   She married Robert in 1979 and moved to Swissvale where she has raised their three adult children; Eric, Joel and Vanessa.  Tisha’s home parish is Word of God Church formerly St. Anselm.  Tisha loves to stay active by walking, hiking, yoga, etc. and her favorite place to be is at her summer cottage in Tionesta, PA.

Tisha has been a Lay Ecclesial Minister for the Diocese of Pittsburgh since 1982.  She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Religious Studies from La Roche College (1982), a Master of Science in Religious Education from Duquesne University (1987) and a Master of Art in Christian Counseling from Waynesburg University (2011).  She has served as a Director of Religious Education for 29 years in the following parishes:  St. Pius X, St. Elizabeth of Hungary, Our Lady of Fatima and St. Bernard.  In 2011 she humbly accepted the position of Pastoral Associate at St. Bernard.  Her responsibilities include; homebound ministry, hospital ministry, funeral ministry, bereavement ministry, Stephen Ministry, Annulment advocate, and she serves the emotional/mental health needs of parishioners as a Licensed Professional Counselor.  Tisha’s responsibilities also include helping the parish priests wherever there is a need and serving as liaison to several committees.  Tisha states:  “I am so grateful that God has called me to serve in this beautiful community of faith!”
